LA GIRL PRO PRIMER & PRO POWDER: WITCH APPROVED?

LA Girl is an affordable drugstore brand. But, the question is: is it any good? Maybe you’ve seen my review of the LA GIRL PRO COVERAGE FOUNDATION, where I’ve talked about how amazing I think their foundation is. Now, let’s see how great the face primer and powder in the collection are.

LA GIRL PRO PREP HD SMOOTHING PRIMER

I’m more of a hydrating primer kind of girl, but I gotta say this smoothing one from LA Girls is pretty good. It’s weird that when you apply it, it has a kind of a blurring effect. It’s very hard to notice in photographs but in real life, if you look close up at the skin you can see a small difference. After I primed my entire face I didn’t feel like wow it was such a major difference, but if you look at it piece by piece as you apply, something is happening.

I didn’t notice that it made my huge ass pores look a bit smaller until I applied my foundation. It leaves the face feeling really smooth, just like the Porefessional from Benefit. It has a slight smell, but it goes away almost instantly and your hands really need to be coated in the primer for you to catch a whiff of it.

I can’t really say if it will make your makeup last a lot longer than other primers do because I usually tend to mess my face up by touching it, and I haven’t exactly timed my foundations either.

TLDR VERSION

PROS:

  • cheap
  • smoothes skin
  • minimises the appearance of pores by blurring

CONS:

  • NONE

All in all, it’s a very good primer. I can’t say that it blew me away but at the same time, there is nothing wrong with it. So the final verdict is A FULL MOON.

LA GIRL PRO HD SETTING POWDER

I actually really liked this powder until I saw pictures with the flash on. Sweet Witches of Salem! It looked like Casper the friendly ghost was paying a visit. It’s a really fine, nice to the touch powder, it looked beautiful on the skin, except for a few spots where I and a friend tried it on, looked like we had been baking a cake and we got little dots of flower on ourselves. Ok, so it looked like that maybe where I went in a little heavy handed, but in real life, it looked flawless. I didn’t even suspect that I might have applied more product in certain spots.

TLDR VERSION

PROS:

  • cheap
  • light
  • can be used for baking

CONS:

  • reflects flash photography

For me, the fact that you can’t use flash in a photo is a big no no. you never know when you might want to take a picture. Final verdict WAXING QUARTER.

Have you tried any of their products? What did you think? Let me know in the comment section below. Bye, witches!
